A well wrapped gift is also a more appreciated one: this is why, when you buy a present, you need to consider also the exterior wrapping.
Gifts are a pleasure for both the ones who make them and for the one who get them, but for the gift to be really appreciated, you need to consider not only the contents (which is certainly the essential feature), but also its wrapping. Especially in the case of very important or keenly felt objects, you cannot choose an ordinary packaging. This is the case, for example, of jewel cases: just try to figure out the scene, a man on his knees asking for his woman’s hand and giving her a ring, which is not in the classic, nice little box, but in an anonymous container. This might break the spell!
It is true, indeed, that substance is more important than form, but sometimes, especially when you give precious objects, a bad or dull wrapping might not be appropriate. If your intention is surprising the receiver of your gift making them believe that you have chosen an object of little value and thus you have wrapped it in a bad way, and then he finds an unexpected fantastic gift, in this case the choice of an anonymous or bad packaging might be the best one, but in all the other cases, if this is not the effect you wish to have, it is better for you to think about how to wrap your gift.
You only need to think about the care and attention paid during the wrapping of gifts in any shop (especially in the case of jewellers’ or luxury items shops) to understand how important the wrapping is. And packaging is not only important when you are dealing with gift wrappings, but also in the case of bare containers for various types of objects: leather cases or containers made of other precious materials or elaborated and characterized by special details … sometimes the packaging is as nice as the contents (if not more!). In order to offer the best packaging possible, many companies and shops address to other companies that are specialized in the design, creation and distribution of packaging for different types of objects, which can be personalized depending on the need, for example with the logo of the company or with special colours and materials. Personalisation and variety are very important in this field, because it is self-evident that different types of products or shops require different types of packaging. In the case of jewels, for example, velvet or leather boxes are used very often, because these precious materials convey the idea of luxury, but for other types of objects other types of materials might be more appropriate. In the food sector, for example, to package wine bottles, jam jars or other types of products that are connected to nature and authenticity, the best material might be wood (for wine bottles, wood boxes are a must), or you might choose a more flexible material, like in the case of jute or raw cotton bags, which also convey the idea of containing something natural, and which can be enriched by ribbons or strings to close them.
The cases, thus the types of packaging, are really numberless, but you only need to keep in mind that once you have bought the object you want to give, you need to choose the perfect wrapping to complete the work!
