For most women, even with celebrities, make up is still essential even if you say that you have smooth skin or a pretty face. Make up can further enhance your look and make you look presentable, professional, and attractive.

While it is common for some women to wear make-up everyday, everyday application does not mean that you have perfected the art of make-up application. You could be placing your blush on the wrong area, or using the wrong shade of foundation.

Below are some cosmetics and makeup tips from the experts so you can recreate that Hollywood look without having to hire celebrity makeup artists.

When using stick concealer, use your ring finger to dab against the stick and rub the concealer in your ring finger with both ring finger and the thumb to melt it a bit. Using the ring finger, lightly tap the concealer on the skin especially around your eyes. Do not rub the concealer on the eye area as this is very sensitive to pressure. Do not use your middle finger or point finger but rather only use the ring finger as this is the one with the lightest pressure.

Lipstick should be used with a lip liner for a more precise and smooth look. You can put on lip gloss after applying lipstick for a shimmering look, or you can dab powder lightly so it will last longer and look matte as well.

For your eyes, try dabbing your eye shadow applicator in water before using it to get the eye shadow. This can make the powdery eye shadow stick to your skin longer. Thus, re-touching will not be necessary for the whole evening.

There is no need to stick to expensive brands as long as you know how to apply makeup properly. Sometimes, the key is in blending the colors and in how you apply it, and not necessarily the quality. If your skin is used to a certain brand, be careful when switching brands instantly as you may experience allergies. Apply makeup in a room that is well lit so you can see your colors as you go along. And as one makeup expert says - when in doubt, blot it out. If you think that one shade or one area doesn't look right, it probably doesn't. Lightly apply makeup remover to cotton and then gently blot out the area that you want to clear.
