Kenya holidays, enchanting, provocative, life changing, begin the moment you arrive in this amazing land filled with color and contrast, sights and sounds and beautiful, pleasant people.

Nairobi, the mile high capital city, is a virtual melting pot of African, Asian and European people groups comprised of nationals, expatriates and those enjoying Kenya holidays, all of whom bring their own unique culture and color to this great African cosmopolitan center. A trip to the commerce district near Biashara Street, lets one bargain, negotiate and haggle over prices for beautiful weavings, carvings and paintings of African life. It is most customary and fun, to engage these animated merchants, as prices are never really set and the dialogue is stimulating and endearing.

Nairobi offers the most accessible of all of the game parks with the Nairobi National Park, home to lions, rhinos, giraffes, wildebeest and a vast host of other wildlife and abundant varieties of birds, only a few kilometers from the city center. Interesting photo opportunities contrast these plentiful animals cast against the backdrop of Nairobi's skyline.

Traveling north makes its ascent to an altitude of nearly 7000 feet, passing the impressive Longonot Crater, an extinct volcano that literally blew its top off many, many years ago. From Longonot we begin to descend toward Lake Nakuru, along Nairobi Road, and from still many miles away we begin to make out in the distance a vast, sea of pink. Nakuru National Park and Lake Nakuru host over a million flamingos painting a pink, coral colored picture on the memory's canvas and the park affords us our own personal safari.

A trip to Nanuyki puts us on the equator and gives us an incredible view of majestic Mount Kenya. Returning south, we see the Southern Cross constellation in the night sky beckoning us to return some day to Kenya holidays.
