The Canon ImageClass MF 3110 copier printer may be compact when compared to other multi-function devices but if you struggle with limited floor space it can be a little bulky measuring 14.5x18x18 inches and weighing 26.5 pounds. When it comes to overall design and appearance the printer is super cute with modern colours. A must for any modern office setting rather than for a home office or personal use where space is usually a huge problems.

The Canon ImageClass MF 3110 multi-function device boasts with very user-friendly control. Even technologically challenged users will find the control panel easy as pie to understand and operate. The buttons are all properly in sized and well marked for easy identification. Stop/reset, start and numeric keys are found at the front of the machine, closely knit. Right in the middle of the control panel a LCD screen is located. Scrolling menu's is chop-chop with the arrow and plus minus markings. Warning lights are also located on top of the device with warnings of paper jams and copying or job saving respectively in red or green. Copying and scanning is indicated by 2 green lights. Blue buttons assist exposure, image sizing, print and copy quality and collating selection.

Not all paper types and sizes are compatible with the device. Plain and envelope paper types as well as A4, legal and letter sizes are accepted, no mess or fuss. Prints are produced at maximum of 1200x600 resolutions. Print quality is not as good as you would expect with characters being rather fussy and hard to read. Smudging is another problem that can occur. Graphics and photo print quality is a notch above terrible. Flaws in the form of posterization, dithering and straight edge aliasing may rear their ugly heads when you least expect it. Scans may also have the same problems as photo or graphics prints being faint and blurred.

You can just christen the device Speed Gonzales because of the super fast production speeds reached. This is most probably the reason why the machine is ranked one of the fasted multi function device in it's class. Text prints are produced at 14.3 ppm and graphics and photo's at 15.4 ppm. Scanning rate may be a bit slow at 3.7 ppm for colour and greyscale images or documents. Copies are produced at rate of 21 ppm. Image enlargement up to 200% and reduction as low as 50% is available on the device.

The drivers and software required for smooth running of your multi-function will accompany your printer purchase in the form of a CD-ROM. Unfortunately the software and drivers are only compatible with Windows operating systems. Apple Mac and Linux systems are totally rejected by the printer. Your software package will include special scan management programmes to make things as easy as possible. Setup and installation is a snap with the device ready and willing upon completion of process.

Speedy USB connectivity is included with the printer, with parallel port connections being dead and buried by Canon designers and technicians. Due to the sole compatibility of the device with Windows operating systems, other system users will be extremely disappointed by their system exclusion

A 12 month manufacturer's guarantee will be included with your device purchase, with very limited cover on parts, support and service.

Start-up Canon ImageClass MF 3110 toner comes standard with your printer purchase either in store or online. Larger sized toner has a 2500 print capacity, depending on the quality of printing, copying or scanning. Canon Toner retails for approximately US$99.00, a bargain considering the quantity of prints produced by a single printer toner cartridge.
