Did you know that just by smiling, you can actually make yourself feel happy? It sounds silly, and it may not be easy the first time, but it's true, it really works. Sometimes a positive attitude in negative situations can turn things around, and improve the situation. Just like a positive attitude, a simple smile can calm you when you're stressed, or improve your mood when feeling down.

Turn Your Life Around With A Smile

If it's still sounding a bit of a stretch, think about this. The expressions on your face can actually tell your brain to register certain emotions. If you walked around all day scowling, it probably wouldn't do much to put you in a good mood. But on the other hand, if you walk around smiling all day, your brain registers the smile as happiness, and you really do feel better.

Not only that, but people who see a smiling face are more likely to smile themselves. You'll also be perceived as a friendly, happy person - easily approachable and likable by other people. So not only will you be happy yourself, but you'll be spreading happiness and attracting people to you - just by smiling!

Attitudes are Contagious

I've tried this method myself, and it really works. I was having a bummer day at work, and didn't know what to do about it. I glanced over and saw one of my colleagues working, with a smile on her face the whole time. She seemed to be enjoying herself so much, even though the work itself wasn't that interesting. Other people would walk by and comment on her smile, and it made them all smile as well.

So I decided, why not? I can smile too! So I did. I spent the next few minutes smiling, and just in those few minutes, I felt better about the day. For the rest of the day I was quicker to laugh, and it felt easier to talk to people because I wasn't scowling.

Try Smiling Right Now- I dare you

Even just a few minutes of smiling can truly brighten your day. Try it, and see if you don't notice your heart lifting.
