Crack cocaine is a very dangerous drug that is stronger than cocaine. Cocaine comes from the leaves of coca plants and looks like a white powder. Cocaine is snorted or injected. Crack is made by heating cocaine with other chemicals until it smells and looks like a lump of soap. Crack cocaine is smoked, and has many other names such as rock, freebase, base, and ready-rock. Like all other drugs crack cocaine changes the way the body works and the chemicals in the brain.

Crack cocaine is illegal to own or possess. There are no medical uses for crack, and people who make and sell crack mix in other dangerous chemicals. There is no way to know what these drug dealers put into a piece of crack.

There are many different reasons people use crack. One reason may be that a person's friends use crack and that person wants to fit in with their friends. Another reasons a person may try crack may be that they are curious about crack cocaine. They may think that crack will make them feel happy or give them more energy. Some people may try crack because they don't know it will hurt them. People use crack for a lot of reasons but once they start they can't stop because they are addicted.

Crack cocaine is one of the most addictive drugs known. Crack gets people high for about 15 minutes and then they crash hard afterward.  After a person crashes they get depressed, some people even kill themselves when they come down off the effects of crack.  A person will want to stop feeling depressed and down after they come off crack and will try to get some more to feel good any happy again, this is called an addiction.

In the life of a person on crack, crack absorbs everything they want, do, feel, and desire. That person's family, friends, job, and friends are either tools to help them get more crack or obstacles in the way of getting crack. A lot of people on crack cocaine spend all their money on crack and will cheat, lie, and steal to get it. Crack increases blood pressure and causes pupil dilation in the eyes. Crack also increases one's alertness and may cause one to push their body until it cannot take anymore and crashes.

Crack cocaine causes people to have a hoarse voice and sore throat. Breathing problems and coughing is a common sign of a crack user. Sever weight loss due to loss of appetite is also a common sign of a crack user. Crack also makes people hallucinate and see, feel, and hear things that are not there. These hallucinations can cause the individuals to kill themselves.

Crack will damage the brain. Crack will make blood vessels in the brain burst and cause brain hemorrhaging. It may also stop the brain from keeping the heart, lungs, and muscles in the body from working properly. This could easily lead to death. It can also make the heart overwork and cause a heart attack. All of these dangers can happen right from the first time a person takes crack.

It can also cause kids to weigh less and has smaller heads at birth. It can also cause the child to have learning disabilities and intentional disorders.
