"And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19).

Gaining wisdom through the study of Proverbs will bring great benefits, not only to students of Proverbs, but to his/her family, community, city and nation. To have wisdom is to have wealth, happiness and the foundation from which to avoid evil and temptation. Wisdom is not given to us like our bodily statue or the color of our eyes; it is given to those by God who are willing to invest the time and energy in obtaining it.

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth." (2 timothy 2:15).

Wisdom brings about success to those who practice it and there are many benefits for those who are influenced by wise people. The world would have you to believe that the wise thing to do is not to share information with people. Keep secrets to yourself only revealing what you have to reveal. In fact, God teaches that the opposite is true. Those that learn God's teachings and acquire His wisdom should share it with the world. By doing so everyone benefits greatly.

"Now is shall be, if you will diligently obey the Lord your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you will obey the Lord your God. (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).

Proverbs 8 - Teaches us today?

Proverbs 8:18 "(18) Riches and honor are with me, Enduring wealth and righteousness."

Psalm 59:1-5 (Theme: Protect Me, O My Strength). "(1) Deliver me from my enemies, O my god; Set me securely on high away from those who rise up against me. (2) Deliver me from those who do iniquity, And save me from men of bloodshed. (3) For behold, they have set an ambush for my life; Fierce men launch an attack against me, Nor for my transgression nor for my sin, O Lord, (4) For no guilt of mine, they run and set themselves against me. Arouse Thyself to help me, and see! (5) And Thou, O Lord god of host, the God of Israel, Awake to punish all the nations; Do not be gracious to any who are treacherous in iniquity."

Today's question. Can I get rich by studying and practicing the teachings of God?

The answer to this question is; of course. But remember God is not going to knock on your door with a suitcase full of money no matter how hard you pray. But God will bless your ambitions and hard work, and not only that; He will allow those who are diligent to create wealth for themselves, their employees, their family, their church and their community.

Contrary to what you might believe, it does not begin with a desire to have a lot of money, but it begins with desiring to do something of interest and fun that ultimately is related to God's service. Riches come from the application of your mind, heart and hands using the principles taught in the Bible.

"Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others." (Philippians 2:3-4).

Dear God, help us to be a great nation by increasing the number of the wise. Amen.
