One of the most special days in our country is our Independence Day which we celebrate every year on the 14th of August. On that special day we have a holiday for school, colleges, universities, and government organizations to celebrate this day in appropriate way.

In the morning, the first thing the government does is clean the roads and streets.

In the Assembly at 8:30 a.m. the army and scouts march past. And, at 9:30 a.m. the military people give the salute with 38 firings from a shot gun.

At the other hand, we decorate our schools, colleges & universities with the national flag and we have national dancing. Students give speeches about the old history and make some pictures of old historical places along with the tributes to our National heroes.

We decorate our buildings, banks with the lighting and flags every where in the city. Put the badges on our chest with smiling faces.

In our home relatives prepare many sweets for us and our friends. On that day, we enjoy ourselves very much, have fun, and go out with our families.

But one thing we don't have is patriotism, we even never think for a single second about our country and the people who live in our country. In short, when we drive, we would like to be the fastest vehicle on the road. We probably don't like the queues, we never think about our neighbors who are having pain due to our over load patriotic songs we play all the night.

Do we really consider ourselves as a part of Pakistan?

Its easy to celebrate the day with full fledge lights & loud but its very hard to prove it.

Who will start it? There are many channels I have seen on 14th August 2008. and I was really feeling ashamed that where are we going. A very simple example that I was watching a song of Anie (most famous and upcoming female singer in Pakistan), was singing (Mahiya) which has no relation with Pakistan day and the most wonderful thing was the show was being celebrating in Dubai. Isn't it cool?  In majority channels young couples were discussing about Pakistan dignity in English Language. And for kind information 60% Pakistani people don't know English properly.

I am waiting for people, volunteers, groups to join us on the platform of ProvePakistan not to increase the rate of Prove Pakistan but to stable & make Pakistan living with real & patriot people.
