Most people know why they want to put their family first but they just do not know how to make it happen. I have taken the liberty of condensing their recommendations into a few helpful ideas.

Be your family boss. Let no one run your family for you. Most people are there to destroy your family bonds because they have nothing to loss. They will therefore tell you too much of what you don’t want to hear. You should be the one to rectify the family issues first. Therefore point a finger at yourself always.

Spend less time wasting time. Imagine if you watch you’re TV for 2 hours per day then in a whole year it amounts you would have spent 30 day of TV. This time you could have taken tour family out for social events like dinners, picnics, sports events or even church. This is when you have the time to get to really know your family.

Commitment and willingness to learn and run your family system will strengthen you family bonds and you will be able to rectify any failure that occur. For example one child may be responsible for cleaning the car on a certain day or date while the other sibling takes over next day. The synergy that these responsibilities build can’t be deprecated if enforced.

Take action. Don't sit back and let everyone else around you become a burden. If a crisis comes your way, grab on that situation and handle it like a man or woman. The more problem pile up the more they become hard to handle.

Treat your family as family. Everyone understands this is your family and therefore a family matter comes first. For example, it is not responsible for you to insist on reporting to your work place while your child is sick at home. Even your boss will understand your situation. We are all human.

Share your resources in a reasonably way. If you’re the breadwinner of your family then that means you will need to put enough and decent food on the table for your family. Your family needs can’t come second to leisure like alcohol or gambling. They need you always and you have to be accountable to them no matter what.
