Cotton crop that is grown without using any type of pesticides is called Organic cotton.  From survey it has been confirmed that more than two hundred thousand bales of organic cotton were produced in 24 countries around the world in 2007. Though organiccotton has less environmental impact than conventional cotton.

Many companies especially of home textile and infants textiles are marketing organic cotton products in western countries. The reason world is changing to be that inorganic cotton crop and especially auxiliaries used of cheaper cost (low grade) in processing of spinning, weaving or knitting, dyeing or printing and finishing is harmful to human skin. The Environmental Protection Agency of Unites States of America in year 2000 considered seven of the top fifthteen  pesticides used on cotton crop is likely for human carcinogens.

Few advanced countries including the United States of America are raising awareness of the benefits to the human skin and environment. It is true that now the whole range of products in textile is not available in organic products. However, in few years the dream of organic cotton products with latest fashion will be available at nominal prices to all. Internationally, Turkey and the United States are the largest organic cotton producers. Demand is being driven by apparel and textile companies that are expanding their 100% organic cotton program and developing programs that blend small percentages of organic cotton with their conventional cotton products.

Organic agriculture protects the health of people and the planet by reducing the overall exposure to toxic chemicals from synthetic pesticides that can end up in the ground, air, water and food supply, and that are associated with health consequences, from asthma to cancer. Because organic agriculture doesn't use toxic and persistent pesticides, choosing organic products is an easy way to help protect yourself.
