Going to a Woodinville boot camp to attain fitness can be a smart move these days. This is especially so for people living in Washington State, though residency isn't a requirement to attend one. People today realize that their hectic lives may have caused them to get out of shape, and a fitness camp might just be the key to turning that condition around once and for all.

One thing to keep in mind is that a course such as a fitness boot camp isn't like what men and women encounter when they go to a real military boot camp. Given the cinematic culture we all live in, though, it's a sure bet that most everybody's seen a depiction of that sort of boot camp, complete with running and singing and lots and lots of physical exercise, all led by some sort of "Sergeant Rock" character.

A fitness boot camp isn't precisely like that, which might be fortunate for most people, though a Woodinville boot camp is sure to have instructors who gained their fitness knowledge while serving in the military. Any good fitness camp, though, will have taken the best of the military's physical fitness training experience and incorporated it into sound training regimens aimed at helping people to get into and then maintain sound fitness.

Upon signing up for the camp experience, people should know that there's going to be a small amount of prior preparation in the days or weeks leading up to the camp. And even though camps of this sort don't lock you into a barracks and make you clean the latrine, you'll still be expected to show up when and where required, so keep that in mind, too.

Because of the rigors of physical fitness training, most camps will require a pre-camp physical conducted by a doctor on the prospective camp attendee. This is necessary in order to make sure the fitness camp doesn't create or exacerbate medical conditions brought on as a result of all the exercise that's going to be done on the part of camp attendees.

Also, expect to fill out a complete assessment questionnaire which will be used to come up with certain camp attendee profiles. These are needed so that the camp's instructors can sort the participants into the proper training groups germane to their own personal fitness. Even though everybody will attend the camp as a group, instructors need to know who's in what kind of shape before starting.

As with military boot camps, most fitness boot camps will proceed on the assumption that most folks have little or no fitness base upon which to rely. This is as true at a Woodinville boot camp as it would be at the Marine Corps' San Diego Recruit Depot boot camp. Starting everybody out with exercise that's hard but which can be done right off the bat has been shown to be far more successful than doing exercise that's too hard for current fitness levels.

A comforting thing to know about such camps is that all instructors will have as their first and last goals the health and well-being of the people placed in their charge. They're there to get a person into shape over a period of time. It should also be a comfort to know that significant fitness gains will show themselves in as little as two weeks of steady training.

Attaining fitness at a Woodinville boot camp classes can be a very smart thing for a person to do. This is especially so when that person might not have the absolute self-discipline necessary to kick things off on his or her own. These boot camp exercises can also go a long ways towards instilling fitness habits that tend to stick with a person for a long time, if not for their whole lives, which can't be anything but a good thing.
