Goshen’s chili pizza is a wonderful mix of pizza with a tex mex Influence. This pizza contains ground beef and kidney beans. Goshen’s chili pizza has a wonderful blend of herbs and spices to give it that tex mex influence. It contains a wonderful blend of red chilies and peppers. Goshen’s chili pizza is a wonderfully spicy pizza with a tex mex taste. In this recipe you can purchase a pizza shell or make the pizza base.

Serves: 4


·         2 fresh red chilies, chopped and seeded

·         6 ounces(about 171 grams) of ground beef

·         1 red union chopped finely

·         1 crushed garlic clove

·         1 cup(about 226 grams) of small mushrooms

·         1 pizza base about 12 inches(about 300 millimeters) in diameter

·         1 jar of tomato sauce

·         ½ red pepper finely chopped

·         ½ teaspoon(about 2.5 milliliters) of ground cumin

·         ½ cup(about 113 grams) of red kidney beans (rinsed)

·         1 tablespoon(about 15 milliliters) of chopped oregano

·         ½ cup(about 113 grams) of grated mozzarella

·         ½ cup(about 113 grams) of cheddar cheese (or gorgonzola if desired)

·         Black pepper

·         Garlic salt

Step 1: The first step in Goshen’s chili pizza is to preheat the oven to 450 F. Then get a frying pan and sauté the onions, garlic, mushrooms, and red pepper with 2 tablespoons of olive oil until soft. Then increase the heat and add the ground beef. Stir constantly until the beef is cooked thoroughly and browned.

Then when the beef is browned, stir in the cumin and chilies and stir constantly for 4 to 5 minutes. Then add the beans and add the black pepper and garlic salt as desired.

Step 2: The next step in Goshen’s chili pizza is to spread the tomato sauce over the base. The tomato sauce can be homemade or store bought. (Use your favorite brand of tomato paste to personalize the pizza) Then spoon in the beef mixture from the frying pan onto the pizza base.

Spread the oregano and cheeses over the pizza and bake for 10-12 minutes. Time may vary depending on oven type. (Cook until desired if the 10-12 minutes is not enough for your oven)
