How To Prepare a Cake Using Melting Method

Preparing a cake using melting method involves mixing fat with sugar by melting the fat together with sugar in a bowl using a fingertips or a tool to mix. Immerse the bowl with fat in hot water or oven to melt fat first.

Ingredients

·         200g  plain flour

·         2 level teaspoon baking powder

·         100g granulated sugar

·         100g fat

·         1 egg and milk

·         Lemon

Method

1.      Light the oven and prepare the baking tin.

2.      Sieve together all dry ingredients.

3.      Melt-in fat using oven or immerse your fat bowl into a bigger bowl of hot water and use your fingertips and lifting the mixture above the mixing bowl to aerate. Add sugar and mix well.

4.      Add the lemon juice to the mixed ingredients.

5.      Beat the egg and mix with other liquids.

6.      Make a well in the flour and pour in the egg mixture.

7.      Mix with a palette knife to smooth chopping consistency, adding remaining milk if necessary.

8.      Put the mixture in a baking tin and bake till well risen and brown.

9.      Check for readiness using a clean palette knife which when dipped in the cake should have nothing sticking on it.
