Prompt technical assistance saved me from losing out on a big official deal!

It was a Saturday night, just one more day to go and on Monday I will have been nailing the biggest deal for my company. The clients were going to give us great deal of business and so they demanded quality with perfection.

I was done with all the research and was all set to prepare the presentation for their advertising campaign in order to promote their line of luxury hotels worldwide. This account was crucial for the company as it would open several doors and a big pool of money.

With the concept in my mind, I sat on the couch with my laptop and a drink on the side table. I started to work on the presentation. However, in just about a minute, a pop-up appeared on my screen. I had no idea as to what to do with it. I tried closing it but it was stuck. None of the functions were working on the screen. I fiddled with the laptop for about 15 minutes.

I was getting nowhere and it was frustrating. I stared at the non-responsive screen and sipped on my drink. Just then I recalled that a week ago my secretary Annie had told me about a 24x7 tech support company that helped fix her laptop at midnight. I immediately called her up and inquired about it. She enthusiastically gave me the number of the company.

My call was answered by a male voice, he seemed young. I told him the problem that I was facing. He inquired me about the operating system that was installed on my laptop, which was Windows XP. He asked me to reboot my laptop, which I did. Meanwhile, he asked me some more basic questions related to my laptop. Then he told me that he would be accessing my laptop remotely through the Internet and during this process I could see all that he did on my system. There was some amount that I had to pay in order to avail the services, so I made the payment and allowed him to access my laptop. At first, I was reluctant but then, even Annie had availed their services, so I nudged off my reluctance and carried on. Within a few minutes, he did some magic on my laptop and told me the good news, that it was fixed. He also gave me some very useful tips for the maintenance of my laptop. I thanked him for his help in fixing my Windows XP laptop and went back to work on my presentation for Monday.
