The biggest problem personal fitness trainers face in their business is effective marketing. One of the lessons that I have learnt to how to review and update your message. When it comes to marketing your personal training business, think about how you come across to people. This is a key question for any personal trainer to thin about before promoting themselves.

The first thing to do is have a look at your personal trainer website and ask yourself whether your are talking to your prospective clients. If you are a mobile trainer training people for weight loss, is a picture of you with your top off going to entice people in?

I wouldn't imagine so! People are going to be more concerned about whether or not you can help achieve their goals and not whether you look good or not. I would always recommend updating your website every couple of weeks to ensure that you don't get lazy and lose potential clients.

The next thing I want to talk about is the way you position yourself. In personal trainer marketing, one of the biggest mistakes I see is people talking about the fact that they are the "leading" or "best" trainer in the area.

This is very difficult to quantify. If you have hundreds of testimonials, you can back up it a little bit but being the best is not really something you can measure. If I am a consumer, I will buy brands because their service speaks for itself, not because they say they are the best. I think this makes a personal fitness trainer look a bit insecure!

In conclusion, it is important to update your message to ensure that you don't switch people off that are looking for personal training. The other key thing to do is make sure you deliver world class service and not just claim you do!
