World dominance of manufacturing and trade is not a static matter. Needs and perceptions change. A country that reads the crystal ball of consumer minds correctly can expect to over-take competing nations in due course.

Republic of China is a developed country and biggest productive in many sectors. The main factor behind it is low cost raw material, cheap labor and above all is favorable taxation and investment policies. A careful look at the players behind the seemingly unstoppable growth in the trade deficit between China and the US will reveal a lot of familiar faces, as many US and European companies produce their goods in China for those very reasons, and we the consumer have benefited tremendously as the price of most household goods in the past decade has actually declined in real dollar terms.

For many countries China is still the source of most economic supplier for various essential products like small engines, motorbikes, electronic items, etc. They are aware that quality and durability may not be comparable with the products they are ordering at China with same products manufactured in other developed countries, but cost plays here the major role. China can produce diversified products at a very cheap or reasonable price from its very cheap labor market.

The world is materialistic plus we desire all items cheap because we wish to change it time by time. In general we don't want to spend excessively on goods that we can get cheaper. That is, we always love a bargain. And China, with cheap labor and a massive working population can provide this where others can't. Consumers are the cornerstones of the market, a return to quality will force China to rise above unchecked ethical concerns.

China suffers a 5.6% inflation rate, while production climbs at a brisk 18%, the socio-economic divide widens and is becoming an investment nightmare over there. Red is the color to predict for the near future while real-estate is at a galloping premium in China. Barring an Eastern style revolution of the lower labor echelons, China will soon recover from any trade difficulties.
