No doubt Human Resource Department performs various functions and each function, in itself, is of great value and requires much expertise for exercising and implementation. One of the main functions is staffing and placement of each staff as per the caliber and experience or as per the requirement in case of need. While hiring new employees for certain vacancy Human Resource Department lays down the brief job descriptions in order to avail suitable stuff.

Duty list plays an important role in defining the role and position. Each position demands expertise and some basics requirements as well as the role of that very position to fulfill its justification. Placement of proper stuff at suitable matching situation would really require the understanding of the job description and the minimum possible skill matching for filling the position.

While talking about the HRD aspect, since each of the vacancy demands certain skills, duty lists are the documents to define those very tasks. Defining the hierarchy assures that the system and each level in the system at macro level whereas duty list at micro level represents each position and the responsibilities accountable for, sometimes including the upward and downward reporting.

As far as defining the duty list by the person who anticipates for certain job requirement, must keep in mind certain factors while incorporating his duties or present job summary. Primarily those tasks which seem to be difficult and matching with current position must be indicated and briefly defined. Secondly, arrange the duties in order defining those done daily basis and then those occasional. Properly managed and defined duties with brief summary primarily serve as first impression. Matching the duties with those demanded by the employer may increase the chances to be short listed. Many people get no result from the employers only for the reason they cannot represent their skills in the way employer demands.
