Think high school gym minus the adolescent angst. Listen, gym class was great because you had the chance to get out of your chair, get some fresh air, play some team sports, and burn off some energy. These days we all need to burn off some stress, not to mention some calories.

Do you wonder why back in high school you could eat anything and not gain weight? Sure, our metabolism changes as we get older, but so does our activity level. Do you not think if your work had a gym class every day that you would be able to eat and not gain those extra pounds?

It would be a great idea, but our business world does not think the hour a day away from your desk is worth it. But you can have the same experience with adult boot camps.

There are many different camps where you can sign up, including two week camps. Maybe you might want to take your vacation at a boot camp. Or there are weekend camps you can attend for a series of weekends. Or maybe you want a regular weekly schedule of two or three days per week. Whatever fits your schedule is the best for you.

And, if you haven’t figured it out already, boot camps are a great place to meet people who are health conscious like you. Married couples can meet other married couples, singles can meet other singles. Or perhaps you simply want to have another social venue you can count on.

Boot camps also have team sports, so you can add a little friendly competition to your life. Playing friendly team sports helps you burn the calories and drop the extra pounds effortlessly because you are having fun doing it.

Also, in boot camps you have a lot of encouragement. Everyone cheers everyone else along. You really can do it, when you have a whole class shouting "you can do it!"  But remember bring your encouraging attitude with you to class. We all have to help each other!
